Infant Program
Cypress Location: accepts infants that are 12 months of age and walking.
Tomball Location: accepts infants starting at 6 weeks of age. Tomball has three separate infant rooms so the age range in each classroom is often less than six months.
Enriching Learning Experience
Our infant program at Building Rainbows Day School incorporates a variety of age-appropriate toys, educational materials, and climbing apparatus to foster both gross and fine motor skills development. Every day, our skilled teachers guide the children through a diverse array of play “experiences” that align with their current developmental stage. These play experiences span a range of activities, such as art, outdoor time, tummy time (for infants not yet crawling), sensory and discovery periods, gross motor play, and more. At the feeding table, children encounter challenges like puzzles, sensory materials, and soft toys, aiding their transition into a structured routine. Outdoor and gym activities include riding toys, soft balls, and playhouses.
KidReports App
To keep parents updated, our teachers utilize tablets and the KidReports app. This enables parents to stay informed about their child’s daily activities, eating, diapering, and sleeping routines in real time.
Engaging Classroom Structure
At Building Rainbows Day School, we intentionally structure our classrooms to facilitate children’s growth alongside peers within the same age range. Our educators collaborate with families to ensure a secure, stable foundation for each child’s development. Milestones such as sitting up, crawling, self-feeding, standing, and ultimately walking are all achieved at the child’s individual pace.
As children prepare to transition into the next classroom, our teachers maintain an open line of communication with families to ensure a smooth and positive transition. This process typically unfolds over a few weeks, and children spend portions of their day in both their current and future classrooms. This staggered approach eases the transition and minimizes stress for the children.
